Research: Process Control

Nonlinear approaches to process identification and model-based control using differential algebra, differential geometry, and Volterra series expansions; characterization of process nonlinearity for control-relevant design; application of advanced control schemes to nonlinear, multivariable, constrained industrial processes with emphasis on: polymerization reactors, distillation columns, and pulp and paper operations; neuromimetics: Our controls research is broken into three categories:

  1. Nonlinear Process Characterization, Identification and Control
  2. Pulp and Paper Systems Modeling and Control
  3. Control of Particulate Processes
