Research
I am interested in applying engineering methodologies to understand translational medicine problems and improve the patient care. My main focus has been on improving blood glucose control in individuals with type 1 diabetes. I have experience in identifying relationships between different factors (i.e., physical activity, psychological stress) and daily blood glucose control in type 1 diabetes, developing human-centered algorithms to improve the blood glucose control in individuals with type 1 diabetes, and translating engineering research into clinically actionable information. Currently, I work on developing methods to improve blood glucose control in pregnant women with type 1 diabetes.
