Research

I am interested in applying engineering methodologies to understand translational medicine problems and improve patient care. My main focus has been developing smart systems to improve blood glucose control in individuals with type 1 diabetes. I have experience in identifying relationships between different factors (i.e., physical activity, psychological stress) and daily blood glucose control in type 1 diabetes, building human-centered algorithms to improve daily care in type 1 diabetes, and translating engineering research into clinically actionable information. Currently, I work on blood glucose management during pregnancies complicated by type 1 diabetes.
